Re: Forum Member's Boat and Daughter in Trouble off of Mexico

Re: Forum Member's boat and daughter in trouble off of Mexico
I consider all this a bit dramatic and yet interesting consider the fact that you failed to mention the groundings at all in your initial post, while claiming you personally checked the bolts in... |

I hope we are going to start reposting the blogs and resumes of the misinformed here; otherwise, we'll be here forever. :flowers: |

Re: Forum Member's Boat and Daughter in Trouble off of Mexico
It's a good thing Peter Tangvald is not alive today. They would surely lock him up and take away his kids. If you've never heard of him here is a brief summary: THOMAS TANGVALD: In His Father's... |

Re: Forum Member's Boat and Daughter in Trouble off of Mexico
I really doubt they'll be doing a speaking tour! Too much bad publicity. And it not like being rescued once makes you an authority on the subject. I'd rather hear from those like Lin and Larry or... |

Not sure I agree with the "valid" part of your statement. The definition of "opinion" per wikipedia is.. But that's just my opinion. :flowers: I think opinions, as defined above, have very... |

Re: Forum Member's boat and daughter in trouble off of Mexico
That's nice, but the grounding that is suspected to have damaged the keel was in the Chesapeake Bay after leaving Newport. The boat was not pulled after the grounding for inspection before leaving... |

Re: Forum Member's boat and daughter in trouble off of Mexico
Thanks for that one Salty. I just read another lengthy piece on how we are over-protecting our children and producing a bunch of narcissist, but that's another story. It's worth reading if you have... |

Re: Forum Member's boat and daughter in trouble off of Mexico
I really haven't heard anyone here criticism his decision. Apparently, he had a choice and chose to leave with the family and I respect his decision. His choice and I'm sure it was what was best... |

Forum Member's boat and daughter in trouble off of Mexico
There is no one right thing. Eric did what was best for him. Others may have done differently under the circumstances. He had a choice and chose what was best for him. |

Re: Forum Member's boat and daughter in trouble off of Mexico
Also, people have been known to over react when under stress, and later regret their actions. Just saying. |

Re: Forum Member's boat and daughter in trouble off of Mexico

Re: Forum Member's boat and daughter in trouble off of Mexico
It was his choice yes, but he did have a CHOICE correct? Stay with the boat and not have it sunk or leave with the family. The Navy did not force him to leave, correct? |

Re: Forum Member's boat and daughter in trouble off of Mexico

Re: Forum Member's boat and daughter in trouble off of Mexico

Re: Forum Member's boat and daughter in trouble off of Mexico
I'm really not surprised at the public reaction considering how polarized the world is today. Anything that costs government/taxpayer dollars, be in a sailboat rescue, missing airplane search or the... |
