Balsa is cheaper than foam as a core one of the reasons it is used in home built vessels rather than foam. Certainly Grainger and Schonning offer both options.

The vessel in the photos is the 46.

The 44 uses the same shoe mold as 46 2 ft shorter,slightly lower sheerline and saloon and cockpit 200mm shorter.

Still the 44 is still close...
