HTH- You are absolutely correct if it to be used in a climbing system it is not to be used alone. Our usage is completely different in that its purpose is to keep you from going overboard. |

If you want really cheap, make some out of some old halyards or sheets (pretty easy with a few knots).. The catch is how much will it hurt if they truly arrest an overboard event - the wider the... |

Ideal way to go is real sailing harness ($80 plus) or the combo auto-inflate vest with D-rings in the front, but they are pretty expensive ($250 plus). For occasional use, I have these as backups:... |
