Re: Bestevaer 49ST

Oh that video made me nervous, if that was my boat I'd have been beside myself worrying. Photos are looking amazing I love the attention to detail they have and how they are curving the aluminium.

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

I respectfully disagree that hoisting a dingy to the back of the boat is unattractive. Your boat is designed and built to explore the world and see the sights while keeping you safe and comfortable....

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

Wow I'm in awe that it's gone from a few weird welded pieces of aluminium and a few little stacks of metal and now we have a frame for a boat ready for the skin and it looks like your boat just a few...

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

I know, it was tongue in cheek. Real teak decks are so expensive these days I can't believe anyone would put them on a boat but you'd never be able to worry about anything cause you'd be to busy...

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

Install teak then you won't be able to worry about anything else but it's upkeep and it's cost!

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

That could actually be pretty cool and feasible. Pain in the arse if you have to do a large repair to the paint but actually painting it wouldn't be hard to accomplish. You could do it using a sign...

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

Yeah thinking your going to want that insulation!

Shame the aluminium can't be incorporated in some way, personally I love the look of unfinished raw materials like wood steel glass and stone.

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

Will any aluminium show on the inside? Would be a shame to hide it all under wood or white panelling

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

What function is the squares playing? I'd have expected one sheet of aluminium

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

I almost stopped watching! The poor boat got the snot beat out of it and the owner had to sit and watch.

I get the allure of sailing icy water, some of the places are beautiful, pristine and...

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

The work is impressive, the combing is flat right? It looks curved on my phone but I'm guessing it's caused by the light and marking on the aluminium or its my terrible eyes.

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

Maybe it's the finish but it definitely had a softness to the raw aluminium after the shine dies down and it starts to show its living in a world that moves.

It's amazing watching the boat...

Re: Bestevaer 49ST

I was down by the water last weekend and came across a really nice aluminium sail boat, I think it was in the 30 foot range and very nice looking as well they had left the aluminium to weather but...
