I like the idea of using brake line to suck the oil out the dipstick rather than the plastic stuff. I have a Volvo-Penta evil 2003t green demon engine and I'll have to see what size best fits... |

An oil filter should never be put on tighter than hand-tight. It's just a rubber O-ring seal. Making it tighter will not make it seal better, in fact it might make it seal worse as it can be... |

You have "heard" right. Very few modern boat engines from the last 40+ years, gas or diesel, will have a drain plug in the oil pan or the "sump" as some are wont to call it. With rules against... |
