I have long wondered what the personnel at a National Hurricane Center do when it is not hurricane season. Seems like a very seasonal profession.

We don't use person's names for storms in Montana, we just call it snow.

As to the designation of Force 8 would that be a measure on Gord's Bieleford scale or Francis Beaufort's scale?

By convention storms are supposed to be named with a person's name not a place name. And as every JK Rowlings fan knows - Bieleford is Voldemort, but one isn't supposed to ever...

Given the storms modest status, perhaps it name should be andrea, all lower case and small font, i.e., hardly worth mentioning.

Storms could then become named in progression of their intensity.
