Oops, forgot an important thing, sometimes if thru-hulls get capped off they may be covered and/or forgotten. Be sure nothing heavy like a battery is free to fall against the capped thru-hull and... |

Capping them off with bronze caps is fine. I removed my head and capped mine off for removal at some later haulout. |

I would NOT recommend putting your fuel tank in there! Water and lead in the form of batteries. Bilgekote is a good paint choice. Do you have a separate sealed hatch or lazarette for fuel tanks? |

I have an outboard on a pretty good custom made hoisting mount and if you can make it work for you it is a reasonable way to go. I'd cap the thru-hulls and prop shaft, or leave it in and just remove... |
