it's not just materials technology that has improved or changed in the last 40-50 years but also manufacturing technology and techniques.

Who would have thought we could "glue" a car chassis...

I sail, and liveaboard, a mono. Why? Because that's the style of vessel I prefer. I'm also about the only sailor I know who actually enjoys beating to windward as the boat feels alive on that point...
