I have individual focus on my Fujinons that I use on the boat.
Ashore I have Nikon 8x40s which are centre focus.... they need a bit of work focusing but are excellent for close in work.... birds n...

Are the WM Tahitis made for WM by Fujinon? I think one of the better WM bins were some years back.

Serious amount of dip with a small card aggravated by ballasting the wrong way... and the compass cards in binos are very small ...can lead to the card sticking.

I posted that for the benefit of the OP and the world at large.

I recently posted my Fujinons from NZ to US for re-armouring... return postage was in the order of $150 US... and they were gone for...

For the OP.... at the price you want to pay...stick with porro prism ... to get decent roof prism ones you have to pay $$$$$$ more.

At the top of the market they reckon the FMTR Fujinons ( as used by the USCG, Armada de Chile, etc etc ) are as good as the Steiners but far far less expensive.

Ed Zackery.... which is why when I bought my Fujinons in the UK 20 years ago I passed on the compass option.

Would be OK using a pair bought in N.Am or NEurope in the Caribean or Tahiti... maybe...

I would be concerned with taking a pair - with compass - purchased in the northern hemisphere into the southern hemisphere. Small compasses typically have fixed ballast to compensate for dip.......

Anything 7x50 by Fujinon or Nikon... I would pass on the compass option and put the money into the glass.
At that price I would give anything second hand a miss.... esp if buying unseen.
