some plotter still have nmea 183 output. ...

Yes it works fine. But to one of the whites. There is only one yellow. That is the seatalk input. Leave the blues empty. I don't think they make caps for those.

It becomes a single device...

in that case, remove the 12v to the display, and connect the red between the adapter and display. then the display will be powered via n2k. then you don't have to worry about which is turned on...

not if the n2k network is already powered. you should also cut the red wire on the seatalk cable. and only connect the yellow and sheild. otherwise the n2k bus will also get powered from the...

The blue ng backbone cables and the white ng drop cables have different connectors and do not interchange.
