an update. Perhaps because of the English language translations on the Vlm site and hence some confusion about registering boats, my QtVlm showed two entries under 'Account management'. ...

matai, I am away, which is why I'm on another computer. Whilst the computer is high spec (used also for flight simulation), the download speeds here are not. The mingw file is 116mb so I will wait...

Sad to report, same crashing, always when opening Boat menu, and/or sub-menus within Boat.
