What an extraordinary finish. Tens of thousands of miles and they're going to finish mere hours apart. It's akin to a photo finish of a marathon, but even more improbable.

Yes the difference is huge. Thomson has won a round-the-world race, and Le Cléac'h has not.

They have largely different focuses as professional sailors. And Wikipedia entries can vary widely...
