The 50 has a very flat torque curve, I can swing an 18" prop on it to take advantage of that. The 38 is a 1500cc engine that gets its horse power at 3600rpm. The 43 shares the same exterior to the 50... |

Hi Mack...Its a Moody 425 that had a marinized version of a little Ford diesel from Britain. We are installing a Beta 50 in its place and I think I will add a 3 blade Flexifold propeller to the mix... |

My bet is that it might be a hell of a job installing a sail drive where he already had a shaft drive engine on a glass bed, folding props are pretty easy to come by. |

The Yanmar is 4JH5E with 54 peak hp/ 48.3hp continuous and it is all mechanical, no electronics. Beta is 50hp continuous. |

Yes you are correct, I have priced in the the exhaust mod. The base engine price before discounts is Yanmar around 12000 dollars and Beta is 16000 and change. Beta offers a 15% discount which puts it... |

Actually they will both fit the existing beds needing only small risers, easy refit. Both engines include the transmission and all the associated bits to make the conversion. I am so used to Yanmar... |
