I know this the perceived wisdom but really this is not an issue with such small signal wires; even the heat shrink is strong enough to support such small wires and the small amount of solder...

Crimp or solder, your choice. Of course the trick with crimping them is to find crimps small enough (and they do exist) but then you also have to have the "right" crimping tool so for a one off...
