Re: Large older MY's, cheap to buy but....

Good luck with your new boat GG :thumb: To help save on using the Geny, have you considered installing a 600W wind generator and, if you like a little extra, a couple of 250W 12/24V solar panels. You...

Re: Steel Boat Building Price and Advise?

G'day mates,

As this seems to be the place on CF to find information on steel yachts, I wonder, does anyone on here know anything about, Morning Mist Bilge Keeled line of steel yachts? Apparently...

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

If the listed price is right...This could be the cheapest 2000 built Cat (https://yachthub.com/list/yachts-for-sale/used/sail-catamarans/38-ft-catamaran/137351) yet

Re: 42 hp Nanni diesel

The boat is a 1985 Hartley Queenslander with a few little problems, as the seller puts it, hence the low asking price.
I have stripped-out, rebuilt and reinstalled quite a few boat and truck engines...

Re: Ferro Cement Hulls ?

G'day Atoll,

With that 60'er, the engine is a 150hp John Deere (1700hrs) and she burns 11L/hour @ 6Kts, so your fuel burn figures are spot-on :banghead:
I wonder how well that Fisher in NZ would...

Re: Ferro Cement Hulls ?

G'day Kevin,

My sailing experience is pretty limited. My previous sailboat was a plastic Careel 22. I would use the boat as a full-time live aboard, most time laying on the hook. I would enter...

Re: Ferro Cement Hulls ?

G'day DM,

After the purchase price, I don't mind spending a few bob on gear that would help me safely manage the boat. As I said in my earlier post, I guess I need to get-up to inspect the boat,...

Re: Ferro Cement Hulls ?

G'day Kevin,

Yes mate, the boat does have an autopilot, as for all lines coming back to the cockpit, that I'm not sure about. Guess I'll need to go check her out in person.

Cheers mate,

Bill...

Re: Aussies owning a boat in New Zealand

It's not so much the cruising in NZ, it's more the living in NZ, the sea fishing, Trout fishing and the hunting that appeals to me. Then there's the living aboard thing. It seems to me NZ is more...

G'day Steve,

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

The Tri was pro' built in 1981 so I'm guessing it would be epoxy but I don't know for sure.
