As I said at the beginning, the early models have a universal overspeed control system for both engines that cuts in at 6000rpm. Later models have individually tailored systems...

Slipping Cone Clutches on SD50's is a well known problem with a relatively easy fix if it all goes well. A search should bring up plenty of "how to" videos and text files on what to do.

Any tips for mast furling main to ensure a good furl (no jams !!!) appreciated.

Probably not related, but my FP 8000i wouldn't start.
It would turn over, but not fire up.
Looked at all sorts of possibilities.
Finally simply disconnected the inverter and it fired up...
