Hi Dockhead, I agree that hydronic heating is great up here in the cold North. We have a Webasto thermo top but also use an electric heater with a circulation pump built into the loop, gives a max... |

Re: Replace rod rigging or switch to wire?
Did consider dyneema/spectra. But none of the riggers here (Norway) have any experience with it. And want to sell me rod rigging. Anyone know if there is anything to change besides the terminals? |

Re: Replace rod rigging or switch to wire?
That could be a solution, but none of the riggers want to do this, they say the rod itself is too old. One way to go about it is to try to re-head the rod and "hope for the best". The fore and back... |

Replace rod rigging or switch to wire?
Hi all, I have a Bene First 45f5 from 1990. The standing rigging is rod and most likely original and as such due for replacement. I have talked to a few riggers and they say change it all, no... |

Re: New Blocks for Mainsheet on 45 Footer
It's more than terrible, and that is why I want to change it. The question still stands though, how do I properly size the blocks? Sent from my D5803 using Cruisers Sailing Forum mobile app |

Re: New Blocks for Mainsheet on 45 Footer
Thanks for your input! The blocks are not totally seized, but not far from it. The setup is actually 4:1, see photo. The line is covered dyneema and 12 mm. I don't know how old it is, it was on... |

New Blocks for Mainsheet on 45 Footer
After complaints from the crew (and myself) when taking in on the mainsheet during the last season I have had a look at the blocks in the system. They are a sorry bunch. The boat is a Beneteau... |

Re: Old B&G autopilot connected to new wind instruments?
The manual states that it is possible to connect a wind vane to a fastnet network and connect this to the Hydra. I'll have a look at the interface tomorrow. Thanks for your input! Sent from my... |

Re: Old B&G autopilot connected to new wind instruments?
Yes, all the new stuff is NMEA2000, and the Vesper AIS converts the sentences to NMEA 0183. I don't know if the chartplotter is any help, it's a Garmin 2010C from about -08. The problem is still... |

Old B&G autopilot connected to new wind instruments?
Hi all! First post from a long time lurker, currently living aboard a 1990 Beneteau First 45f5. When I bought the boat it was, and still is, fitted with a B&G Hydra2000 pilot, an ACP2 and ram... |
