Re: the kiddo on the paddleboard!
I paddle the Big Baron. I'm 6'2" 230lbs and blessed with a complete lack of balance or grace. I feel really stable on the Big Baron even in a little chop. I also paddled my wife's board, the Big... |

Re: What do you have in your refrigerator?
We just got done with rebuilding our fridge box from soup to nuts. The original box was 11 cu.ft. We scaled it down to 4.5 cu.ft. The fridge is cooled by a 1 cu.ft. freezer box centered in the... |

Re: the kiddo on the paddleboard!
We bought inflatable SUPs for our cruise in Alaska this summer. We LOVE these things. Stable. Good exercise. And a great way to check out the anchorage. NRS Big Earl SUP Board at NRSweb.com... |

Re: starboard for windlass back plate?
For what it's worth, I used 1/2" G10 for the backing plate on the windlass I installed last summer. Extremely strong under compression forces and never corrodes. I made it more of a "foredeck"... |

Re: windlass starboard platform
I'm interested in this as I am putting a mounting pad under my chain stopper just forward of my windlass. I was considering using Starboard, also known as HDPE. On doing some research, I found that... |

Re: Dragged the Rocna for the first time last night.
Great data point and a good reminder for us. We have a 73 lb. Rocna on a 40' boat which tends to make me a bit complacent. |

Re: Cat boats
 Devils advocate time: Bickering over sailing terminology always seems pedantic to me. What you call a "cat boat", I call a "cat rigged boat" or a "cat rig". What you call a "catamaran" I... |

Re: Furling mains
We have a Caliber 40 with an in-mast furling main. We love how easy it is to sail and we're quicker to sail than most boats around us. The only problem we ever had was when the belly of the main was... |

Range Finder When Anchoring
Hey all, we find that even after hundreds of nights at anchor we're still not awesome at guessing distances. We will often use our radar to judge distances in an anchorage to make sure we're leaving... |

Re: Software Development While Living Aboard?
64K of RAM was also standard and a 10M hard drive was a brilliant luxury. You can do software development on a 14" CRT but why? When I'm developing, I like at least two monitors, preferably with... |
