Couldn't let your last comment go past me. My grandparents had a house just outside Cockermouth 1955 to the mid 70s it was just off the rd to Carlisle, had a stunning view of Skiddaw.

They had one of those enormous rovers ,P5 ?, while I had a land rover,series one,cost 700quid, they're fetching about fifty times that today (yes 35,000). I also had a half share in an Austin 7, and no I never had a Vauxhall (!!!!)
