    Steve,
I saw your message on here. The flooring in my newport 28 (that I just bought last wed) has been replaced with 2 different types of material. Hardwood and tile. The hardwood was real, and expanded and looks terrible. I was thinking of removing it and the tile (and the remaining teak(?)), and redoing the floor with some engineered hardwoodish (vinyl). I've done many a home project with that, but I was wondering what's under that hardwood and tile. I removed the bilge cover and it *looks* like metal, but You'd posted that you have fiberglass and I was wondering if it is indeed metal and what you would recommend to get it out with. I was thinking demolition hammer and chiselish attachment at a light angle but I'm still worried and don't want to end up on the bottom of the harbor.
