    Hi sepeteus,

I read some of your posts concerning your experience with your Beneteau First 47.7 We currently have a 1984 Beneteau First 38 and are looking at a 2001 First 47.7 here in Chicago. We are not racers – simply cruisers that like to go fast. Can I contact you for advice & your opinions?

Here in Chicago we store our sailboats on the hard during the cold winter months. There are 2 other 47.7’s stored in the same building where we store our First 38. I hope to talk to both owners in the next month or so for their advice/opinions.

Yes I did. Sorry for the long delay in replying. The message didnt show up on my Ipad. I see that you have placed your 47.7 up for sale.

Hi Sepeteus, Havent logged on as a user to this forum since before your reply early last year. Picked the boat up from Marblehead on the US East coast start of May last year. It was a race optimised 2005 launched boat. It took my middle son and I one month to take the boat from its winter storage state (mast down on a hardstand with a shrinkwrap Cover) to ready to "cruise" (chinese dacron sails, roller furling headsail, satellite internet and telephone etc and all the original beneteau ropes instead of the high tech race gear. Picked up my other two sons and daughter in law in New York early June and have left the boat in Nerw Zealand since October via Jamaica, Panama, Galapagos, French Polynesia etc. About to head for NZ to finish crossing in next few days. As you know Farr designs are sailboats and that is what has attracted me to the First44.7 (other than the luxury interior).
    Cheers

Hi Sepeteus, I spoke? via internet with you sometime last year regarding your 47.7 and my interest in the same. I have since purchased a First 44.7 in East coast USA and will be heading of in May for the delivery cruise home. How are you enjoying your boat?
    Cheers Frant
