    Howdy Skipper!,

A fellow CF-er suggested you may know how I could obtain a survey of a sailing yacht currently in Cebu (Carmen). Will be there in Jan/Feb to investigate and would love a dependable survey done then.

Here is the boat, if this helps.

Appreciate anything you can do to help!

Hi! as I near retirement I am selling out and moving up to a bigger boat. A boat that will ultimately be our liveaboard in SE Asia. I am trying to be acquainted with as many who are knowledgeable in these things as possible. Cheers!

Pelagic, beautiful boat! Hey, I'm not sure who to direct this question to: I have two computers, a PC and a Mac; the PC works fine if I'm doing a response on a thread, but on the Mac I get an error message that says: This Page Isn't Working....Try clearing your cookies......ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS. I have cleared cookies multiple times, googled other ways to fix this, and nothing works.

Any ideas? Anyone else I should ask? Thanks!

    Hi Pelagic,
well done with your Air cond set up. I though I would contact you here rater than causing thread drift for the Combo Charger Inverter Charger thread.

I can see that you have quite a large house batt bank.

    I'm currently doing a 24v conversion myself.

If I may, can you give me some more details about your Air cond set up please.

1/2 HP Invertor A/C sounds pretty small. Which one do you have. What sort of 'duty cycle' do you get?

    Thanks,

    Milton.

    Good afternoon Pelagic,
My name is Michael V. Gutowski. The wife (who is a Filipino) and I own a 44' Nauticat.
We have a possible interest in a 50' steel De Vries motorsailor that is for sale. We would value your opinion on this vessel. It is listed on Yachtworld right now. Since your boat is made of steel your thoughts would be appreciated. Right now we are in Baltimore, Maryland, having just returned a few weeks ago from Manila. Our phone number is 410-913-2330. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. AND THANK YOU.

Thankyou Pelagic, you smelled out a rat and decided to do something about it. So sorry thread deleted, (The For sale add, and mine by implication). But anyway found out a little more today about our friend, I am told he is definetly not a friend of the seller. Anyway if you don't mind, I would like to be your friend.

    Hello,
You have given me so many good ideas about the Philippines. One more question...do you have any information about the Hinatuan passage? What I read makes it sound sort of interesting!
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Biography
As a Scottish teenager we moved to Canada, where I loved our new country but finally understood what below zero really meant.

Majoring in psychology, one day my Prof. explained that we subconsciously choose careers that help ourselves. Since I thought him brilliant, but a bit nuts!… I promptly ran away to a career at Sea…. in case it was contagious!

Bridging both commercial marine and professional yachting, I skippered water taxis, pilot boats, harbor and offshore tugs while doing large yacht deliveries and charters (both sail and power) till my licenses and reputation allowed me to command small cruise ships and eventually enter the Super Yacht industry.

Project managing the “Design and Build” of these modern “masterpieces” was a never ending learning curve of balancing unlimited budgets with design egos while being a practical sailor. I loved it when all that talent created a captain’s dream boat that allowed us to explore the remote corners of the Oceans, in safety and comfort.

Retired from operations I enjoy my personal sailing life on board Star Gazer, but now into a new learning curve of finding budget solutions for a cruising sailor.

I have been taught a great deal from reading this Forum, which only proves my old Prof correct that I always was a Drifter, but now with the help from CF members and friends… I can calculate my “Set and Rate” …. Fair Winds to All!
