    Hello Mike,

My name is Jean-Denis and I just saw a post you made last year about forward cockpit. My wife and I are projecting to start a circumnavigation in 2024 and we are actively looking at what we want in our catamaran. I recently saw the new French cat builder named Windelo and their concept seems very interesting. Among other things they have a forward cockpit with protected twin wheels. I am intrigued by that and then I found your post and your blog.

It turns out we are living north of Los Angeles until the end of April, because of COVID, and I noticed you are in Santa Barbara. Would you agree to let us see your catamaran to have a better grasp of this forward cockpit? We would gladly invite you and your wife for lunch or dinner if we can make it safe enough. And we would certainly enjoy exchanging a few sailing stories.

Thanks a lot. You can reach me at jdmuys at mac.com or 650-804-9584.

    G'day Mike, from another Mike.
Saw your two photos of a rudder barrel and two cages with bearings. Very interesting.

Your rudder pivots on 40% chord? It appears to be balanced a lot.
Its been some time since launch and I was wondering if you are still happy with the rudder arrangement. Any comments?

Hi Mike - I was trying to work out your boat - it looks interesting. We have just sold our boat after receiving a rare offer and pressure to sell, to a dive company in the Red Sea. I have just returned from Mexico having looked at a boat there. It wasn't for us as it needed significant replacement kit (heavily corroded original standing rigging, corroded mast, engines with unknown hours etc etc). Seeing the thumbnail picture of yours made me wonder what you have? Aussie boat? Kindest, Chris.

Hi Mike, I see that you do a lot of posting about the Santa Barbara area, if you are still in the area do you know anyone that is looking to "rent" their sailboat for a liveaboard situation? I've been assigned a project in SB and think it may lend to an opportunity to try the lifestyle before I purchase a boat.

    Any words of wisdom appreciated.

You are in SB? Me too! Would love to see your boat some time. Give me a shout when you get a chance.
