I read an old post from Nov 10, it was about buying a Ketch.

i had the same concern about buying my Ketch, had never even been on a ketch before and was looking at a 37'. I still have never reefed the sails, I just take down the main or drop the Genoa and fly the jib. My wife was afraid for me to singlehand it but i snuck out one day and i tell it was a breeze. If you have some experience with your particular boat then doing it solo is nice, because you can pre-plan the balancing of the sails to the wind direction whether you are casting off of a mooring or leaving a marina. My boat resides on a mooring so I love to leave the mooring without engine and use my jib and mizzen.

When i approach my mooring without motor I can drop the main and let out the jib / mizzen to slow my headway and reduce power, then button hook adjacent to the mooring ball, dropping the jib in the middle of the 'button hook' and glide right up to the mooring with no motor.

    Biography
From the NW. owned this, my only sailboat, for 10 years. Sailed up and down the coast, mostly down. My wife hate sailing because of the sea sick thing. Don’t blame her, must be awful, but she supports me. I’m lucky in that respect. Getting ready to go again.
