- Biography
- I served an apprenticeship 1966 to 1971 as an Engineers pattern Maker in a full service British engineering company, That had both ferrous and non ferrous foundries. After a 13 month first period in Canada I returned to England and worked as a Blacksmiths striker for eight months before spending three years in the tool and die trade.
Being a member of an old established Canadian family I moved to the west coast permanently in 1976. During which time I have worked at various times in five different boat building companies, worked as a machinist making Boeing aircraft parts. Spent several years in the gear cutting trade: which led to running my own Pattern making business. I also hold a BCTQ in bench joinery.
I have a serious interest in history, have conducted Primary maritime history projects, and have also studied and practised trades from a historical perspective from the Victorian era forward. I remain interested in the youth education method of Sail Training & have promoted it in the Pacific Northwest.
