hi borealis sorry have not been on cruisers forum for a month or so .have sailed boat over to new zealand and will be here for another month or so then sail back to sydney .yes I used my wind vane the whole way over and I love it.am happy to share design but am better drawing it on paper and some how get that to you.talk to you soon.

Thank you for the detailed reply, it helps alot. I guess i will have to bite the bullet and drill holes in the gunnels. What size holes were in yours ? 1/2 inch....

Hi, just checking out some of your pics and wondering how you attached the gunnell caps? I have a samson c bird and planning on doing the same thing, just not sure what rout to go.

We are thinking about 25 to 30 days. Leave Juneau about 29 May. Arrive Bellingham about 24-25 June. No night sailing. 35 to 40 miles per day. One consideration for a yard in in Port Townsend - Goldstar Marine. We are a fleet of vessels leaving but they will not control us.
As for sailing I do not think we will do a lot of sailing. Winds are contrary usually. Lots of Iron Jib time I think. You Wife is welcome. We had five of us moving vessel from Ketchikan last year.
