I picked up my samson 37 ketch for 3500$ i put 2 weeks of work into her and about 600$ and launched her. i sailed her for 2.5 years before hauling this last October for paint and improvements. They are out there but you have to be looking everywhere and even asking around. basically, I bought a 12000$ value for 3500$ and its now worth about 25,000 and its insured and Im a member at the yacht club. Not bad for being patient, careful, humble, prudent.
