Lékué bread bowl/cloche

A friend on another boat tried one, and spoke well of it.

So on that recom, I gat one for myself, and I am impressed. Mix, knead (or not), prove and bake all in one container.

Amazon carries it, and they also carry a competitor, US company called Cestari, Easy Pod. Less expensive.

I have the Lekue mini, and have ordered a Cestari.

PS: absolutely be sure and wash thoroughly before use. Still gives off a bit of smell but my bread tasted fine

Second use: neither scent nor taste, and the bread turned out very well

Thanks for sharing! Looks like a great idea for homemade boat bread - added to my amazon wish list.

In case anyone likes the above but has no oven here is something equally great.

We use the Swedish Omnia oven on the gas stove. 25 years and still going strong.
We added a silicone insert and a tray.

I mix our sourdough bread ingredients once and put it directly in the Omnia. Let it rise in the Omnia and then switch the stove on for 30min.

Delicious bread each time.

If you put aluminum foil over the tray insert you can also create superb cookies.

Loads of great recipe for the Omnia, even Pizza.

I had something similar when I was in the Peace Corps in the late 1990s; it made excellent chocolate and orange cake, but this looks a lot more flexible with the various inserts. It looks really great! Will put it on the wish list (because its not long enough)!

Just out of curiosity, did you ever try to use it?

I was sceptical at first, but now I decided to keep it and not get a formal oven.
The Omnia does everything.

Anyway, hope it finds a good home.

Yes. Did you ever try a GN Espace cooker?

No, what is it, why should I try?
Looks like a normal marine oven to me.

I’m giving the Lekue a try. To use it (or any other bread making) you need to handle the dough several times. How do you clean your hands without using a lot of water?

Use a tab with saltwater and rinse with freshwater [emoji6]
I work through the sourdough just once and let it rise in the baking mold.
Works fine.
