As a Scotsman I will have to disagree...

Lets compare:

• Skipper = Skip… Third…Second…Lead as crew

• Purpose is to navigate around other rocks using the set of the ice and in-turn or out-turn strategies to anchor near the button.

• Draw games or hit and run are similar strategies as sailing and the excitement of a perfectly executed “wick and roll” is anything but boring.

• Speed management is everything

I started curling on the frozen lakes in Scotland and entered serious competitions in Canada being taught by a world champion and great guy Hec Gervais when I lived in St Albert, Alberta

Honouring a Curling Legend.

I think if I had the choice of watching on TV a typical boat race or world class curling … I would watch the curling

Curling is rather big here in Canada. The cry "hard, hard, hard" can be heard echoing from more then just the winter bedrooms, on a Friday night. While we may be sipping from a flask of Wisers 18 year old instead of Laphraig (unless in Cape Breton where a wonderful single malt is aged in ice wine casks and sold for the slight price of your first born) we can still sweep you into the house when need be.

Fair enough I take back my earlier comments...

I come from New Zealand where most of the country is not really that cold and hence most curling goes on at the salon.

Sailing in that country, on the other hand, is about as common as the male desire to practice procreation

I have found that a bit of rum is a good way to make friends sailors tend to like a nip or two of the stuff. A drink in port is a good way to make a new friend and learn where the fish hide

Curling? I've seen it on TV a couple of times. It was 82 degrees and sunny in Ft. Lauderdale today. Sailing and an ice cold beer. Life is good.

very similar to a bloody mary, but a million times better. dont care for bloody marys myself. Difference is that a bloody mary had tomato juice and a Creaser has Motts Clamato juice. It used to only be in canada, but I guess you can sometimes find it in the US on some stores shelves.

I like mine with rye, like Gibson's Finest, I think its a 12 year.

Gibson's in a Ceasar? How strange. Good whiskey though. A little more complex then Wisers but not quite as smooth.

I agree with your original comment – even if something feels like more fun “off your face” this is usually always the short term option. Most of the idiots who constantly manipulate the stuff eventually hit a brick wall and die. Unfortunately (or not?) quite often literally.
