Honest, you can't make this s* up.

Source?

Or are you referring to the middle ages?

We have chickens and ducks at our house. First of all if you get chicks they will not start laying for 4-5 months. After that it will be spotty for a while.

Chickens are loud and stink. You wont have to worry about a foreign country, they will be dead by your own hands long before the first port.

Will hanging them over the stern rail violate any no discharge zones?

On a positive note they would probably make good watch dogs in port.

Of course in a storm you could tie some string around them and make a chicken-drogue. I have some plans I could sell you.

Stories - Great.

Eggs and years? I have read stories of months maybe. I am not going to try it but look forward to confirmation of you eating a two year old (vaseline preserved) egg.

There are some threads on this forum about egg preservation, which I was shocked to find that eggs can keep a very very very long time. Do a search!

You might want to re-read so as to remember correct information.

"Very, very, very" is rather subjective but might mean years to you.

If so re-read again is my only suggestion.

That is all from me on the matter though because I know the rules around here.

Here start with this first one Therapy, since you being a chicken-s* about it. Think this is a good start:

http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...ion-30172.html

Google brings up a lot - pickling and using bran and salt for 1-2 years etc

heres one

http://www.oldandsold.com/articles11...cipes-13.shtml

But ten has been mentioned.
