The CapeHorn gears might look spindly but they are very good gear. Just look at the size of the vane they use (small) compared to other vanes and it tells you how much friction is in the system. Its actually a well thought out system. I have nothing to do with the company and it was many years ago that I owned one but I did like it. Of course I liked each vane I had at the time, Flemming,Monitor,CapeHorn and Hydrovane.
