Student, Sailor, Liveaboard, DIYer!

Hey all,
New here, although I have lurked about for a while on and off. I currently go to school and live aboard my 1966 Cascade 29'. I've been refitting and fixing her up for the past 3 years or so. I'm generally just do day sails and the occasional over nighter. Though I have done the obligatory San Diego to Catalina and a few cruises down Baja, crewing for others for a short leg.
I hopefully can be of assistance to others working on their own project boats as I've done most of my own work getting Tonic back on her keel.

Well done Garrett. I put over 20,000 miles on my 29. I still occasionally will reach for a drawer or look for a tool and then remember that was on my Cascade, not the current boat. Last I heard my old one was on sale in Cyprus for an extremely high prices. An amazingly sturdy boat. The '66 would have the wood toe rail I think? Post some pictures I'd love to see what you've done.

I'll post some when I get home, at work right now. Glad to hear from someone else who loved this boat!
Yes she does have wooden tow rails, I recently reseated the t-rails on them and their still solid with no leaks at all from original.
She has a mahogany cabin house and a beautiful mahogany interior. The interior I redid 2 years ago, and I'm about to revarnish the exterior for the 3rd time this spring-summer.

Welcome to the forum Garrett and good on ya mate, for making the liveaboard dream a reality at what I assume (as you are going to school) is still a pretty young age.
