Siren 17' Centerboard Crank

Greetings all, I just bought a terrific 1987 Siren 17' with lots of bells and whistles and am trying to figure out what to use as a centerboard crank/winch. There is nothing now but a solid board between the cockpit benches and a brand new cable...I figure a trailer winch will rust our pretty fast, can anybody help me out? Thanks! Nora

Re: siren 17' Centerboard Crank

Aloha Nora and welcome aboard!
Some boats about that size use a small block and tackle to raise and lower the centerboard. The trailer winches will last awhile but will rust pretty quickly if used in saltwater.
Good luck on coming up with a good solution.
kind regards,
