Newbie Reporting Aboard

Hello everybody. Wanted to check in, as was suggested, and see how the site works.

A little about me: I served four yrs. in the U.S. Coast Guard, where I did everything from take care of lighthouses to crew on motor lifeboats. Later I worked as a crewman / naturalist on excursion boats over in Hawaii, taking people of whale watches, snorkeling, etc. Then I worked on a cruise ship, also over in Hawaii, as on board naturalist.

This year, working as a line handler, I made my first transit of the Panama Canal. Very exciting. Anyone interested, here's a link to my blog, with pics and commentary of the event: RovingMind

I don't own a boat as of now, but expect to list myself here as crew available.

Thanks for reading this and look forward to hearing from some of you.
