Welcome aboard Mike. May you find the board as informative as I.

Thanks I hope that the board will be just that. I am 62 and have been sailing since 11. We sold our boat 7 years ago and are in the market for either a Catalina 36, 38 or 40. Plan is to do the great loop, and depth of water is one concern. We both like the layout of the 36 with a wing keel, but the centre line queen aft berth and access to the frig top and front on the 38 and 40 are also nice. Planning to live on the boat primarily for 1 to 2 years the 38 to 40 may just win out. Any comments

Aloha Mike,
Welcome aboard! You'll get lots of comments about your boat choices I'm certain. My advice is always go witht the smallest you can make work for you. Parts and pieces for larger boats certainly get expensive after awhile but I'm certain you already know that.
Kind regards,
JohnL
