my big, big, plan

Any advice is greatly appreciated:

I have a plan to shift my house to be a Trawler.
Is it still possible with all that is out there (red tape, fuel prices, anti-American sentiment etc..) to live the dream of traveling the world on one's own power? (Sail or otherwise)

Even though study and have expertise in most mechanical/marine systems, (elect.,Nav,diesel, automony, fiberglass, gensets), have traveled the world since birth w/ my eight other siblings, can deep, deep free dive, expert sea knowledge and I am planning a long, blue water course in New Zealand. I am pretty scared. I have little time at the helm.

So I’m starting with a 42' Grand Banks (used) that’s busted up. Ill fix that/live on it and probably crash into the dock allot. While I wait for the completion of a Nordhavn 47 or 62. (up to 18 months and which I can afford) And getting licensed.

Ultimately, I hope I can charter when my savings run out and work a little bit if needed, in places.

Am I too late? I feel like I should have done this 5 years ago.
I will be traveling with two very pretty women also, so I will stick out like a sore thumb- is that safe?

This ball begins to roll soon, once it does, I cannot back out.
I’m sure I have missed allot,
Thank you.

Should you have slipped the dock lines 5 years ago? Maybe.
All I can tell you is that 5 years from now, you will be asking yourself that same question if you don't get out there and just do it! Either way, you will be 5 years older - why not make the most of it?
