Welcome to the cruising forum.

I am interested in what is going on in China in the cruising world. We get more hits on our website from China than any other country in the world. Twice as many hits come from China than from Australia. That comes as a big surprise to us because we didn't think that there would be a lot of interest in cruising in China.

We get relatively few hits from Hong Kong domains, and we get some hits from Taiwan domains.

Why are there so many hits from mainland China? Is there a big cruising community in China?

I can't answer your question specifically, Dave, as to the size of the Chinese cruising community, but I saw something recently that indicated there are more people gaining access to the internet every day in China than anywhere else in the world. With 1.3 billion people, and exploding internet access, well . . . you do the math.

Look at it this way - given the draconian censorship Chinese authorities subject internet content to, your wonderful website is deemed acceptable. Congratulations!

I have been cruising some Asian web sites, and what I see is eye opening. I am reading things like "This is the Asian Century". Hmmm. The world is changing rapidly. I think we all better hang on to our seats. It's going to be a wild ride.

I think that China is a big market for multi hulls .There are alot of Chineses with alot of money who would love to own one (I know some of them). If posible ,would like to be a dealer of catamarans .JUst need some conections/advice/perhaps someone interested to help to start the operation from the otsdide.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated .
Thank You ,China

Don,t know Dave. There areot of people interested ( and can aford) in buying boat but not many dealers if any in mainland China -exluding Hong Kong .
Also ,Chinese are not familliar with a Cat .I know that once itroduced propely , there will be a need for cruising cats.

Hi China,
Can I add my welcome?
I for one enjoy meeting up with the growing number of cruisers from Asia - to date thats only included Japanese and Phillipino sailors - but I fully expect to see more Chinese sailors in due course and look forward to that.
Hope you realise your dreams.
JOHN
