Hi from Sunny UK

Hi there, my name is Tony and once I found this site on Google, I just knew I had to join! 32 years old and living in Liverpool, UK.

Ex Navy so spent a lot of time on water, now with a young family I am finding it difficult to raise finances to get my RYA qualifications.

Hope to make new friends on here, hopefully there may be one or two of you sailing from Liverpool, UK that I can say hi to

Anyway, sorry for taking up all your time, happy sailing everyone.

We are planning to leave the Caribbean and spend winter of 2011-2012 in Liverpool marina so we can visit the Grand Kids...any information appreciated.

Hi Tony.... welcome on board..
Re your RYA qualifications... check out with your local Library about low priced RYA Theory Course's from Day Skipper all the way to Ocean Yachtmaster...

Dunno if they still do them but thats how I brushed up on my half remembered Navigation etc from my Navy days... evening classes that worked out to about a quid a lesson and by experienced Instructors... the last Government may have killed it off.. sailing being a 'Rich Mans' pastime.... lmao.

Ex TAS (torpedo antisubmarine) Seaman here..... You...??

I didnt get as much experience as yourself, I was an Operating Mechanic 2nd class on Sheffield.

And a quid a lesson? Wish it was that cheap now lol! But I fear that I have to also build up my sailing hours
