Hi Everyone !

It's my first day on this site and the reason being of course is that hopefully soon I will be buying a boat. As to what length and size that remains to be seen. I guess I'll be reading past threads when it comes to what kind and size boat should I get as my first one. I've been on Craigslist and I've seen some really great prices on some very nice Boats but because I know nothing about them I decided to join this site. I'm at work and have a few tests to run so I better get going but I'll be back every night checking on what's going on.

Thanks,

Re: Hi Everyone !

Hi Texas!

Welcome to CF! I'm still a newbie here myself...and a newbie sailor having a great time. We bought our first sailboat to learn on from a listing on craigslist/ebay (seller had several listings) and we couldn't be happier. We picked something that met our needs in both price and amenities. We didn't want something too big to handle for our first boat so we went with 25ft. although, now that we've sailed her a bunch of times...I'm sure 30ft wouldn't have been too much. Good luck with your boat hunting!

Welcome aboard, Tex

People here are very willing to help and advise, but of course they'll be interested in your sailing dreams and past experiences. Our family sails in the southwest. Pat
