Hi

I'm new to the board and have a ton of questions to ask in other threads, but I thought I'd stop in here first.

I'm 23, sailed in college, participated in the sailing club, generally loved sailing when I could. For the past two years I haven't sailed much (at all). My job (wildland firefighter) keeps me hundreds of miles from the ocean, but I'm planning on buying a small boat, maybe a Laser to keep up my skills.

Long term goal is to save enough money to make a nice down payment on a liveaboard.

Hi Char......could sure do with you here !! The whole state looks like going up in flames (Victoria Australia) "cfa.vic.gov.au"....sailing is a great antidote to fighting fires, although as l have posted else were, l may have to protect my boat (which is on a swing mooring) from falling embers it is that crappy. We expect 600 000 hectares to have burnt by mid next week ...not good ! cheers Martin
