hello from wellington, nz

Hi everyone,

I've been reading disscussions on Cf for a year now and have really enjoyed it. I have sailed since i was knee high, from lasers to maxis, all around the world. As a family, we have chartered often, and more recently had a couple of weeks with old sailing buddies on their cat in the bvi's.

We have a 23' runabout which we use in Wellington and cook straight for diving, but are very keen to get a 40-45' sailing cat (which we've dedcided is more sutable for us) though most of our sailing has been on monhulls.

we have a business which can allow us to take reasonable amounts of time away (up to 3 months at a time) but as a family, we are not motivared to spend long periods (a year or more) cruising.

Would love to hear from other people in a similar situation and hear what they've done (especially kiwis). Buy here and sail away, or buy overseas and sail home, tax implications....... possible partnerships .

Look forward to hearing from you. In the meantime, i'm happy to keep reading.

Cheers,

Goatboater
