Hello from Vancouver !

Hello everybody.. Greetings from Vancouver. My wife and I just purchased our first boat. She is a Newport 28 (1974) and we are very happy with her. We have many, many questions, so i joined this forum in hopes that some fellow Newport owners may help with some questions. To date i have not found an owners manual so figuring out some things are proving difficult. Is there anyone out there that can help us please? Cheers, Steve and Barb

Welcome aboard
If you don't get an answer to your question, maybe try posting a new thread titled 'Newport Sailboat', that should flush some Newport owners outta the bushes.
Cheers,

Re: Hello from Vancouver!

Aloha and welcome aboard!
I'm just curious as to what information would be in an owner's manual on a boat of that age that would still be pertinent?
I hope you found what you needed.
kind regards,

Re: Hello from Vancouver !

Hi Steve

I also have a Newport28 with the Atomic 4 and the reversed Galley(hateful thing).

I have measured the boat's interior and exterior with surveyor's instruments and have ideas and plans.

Maybe we can pick one another's minds?

Re: Hello from Vancouver !

Greetings Steve and Barb. We also purchased our first sailboat this spring, a Hunter 31, which is currently at a sub-lease at Spruce Harbour while we are on the waiting list for a permanent slip at the False Creek Yacht Club, just across from Granville Island. If you have any interest in the club, we usually have a "boat show special" for membership in Feb. Membership is very reasonable, and we have outstations at Bowen, Gabriola, and Saltspring Islands.
Hope to see you on the water soon,
David and Allison on "Morgan."
