Hello...

Hi everyone - We've been living aboard for about 3 years spending part of the year in Key West and part of the year cruising the East Coast and are now preparing to go to Bahamas - all in preparation for extended cruising in near future. We've been reading this forum for a while and the info is great. Happy to be a part of it.

Where ya from, native? My wife's family is from the Chokoloskee area of Florida. I think that's still in Monroe County, so you're probably related. Welcome to the forum. There's some good folks here.

Capt. Joey,
My wife's family were the Thompsons (Peter Mathiessen wrote about the area in his trilogy). They came over from the Bahamas in the 1940's, I believe. I'll have to get Linda to write you about this. There must be some points of contact between the families. Small world here in the south, isn't it?

Hey! My captain has been telling me about you guys. My ancestors came from England to the Bahamas and then the keys then Chokoloskee. All fishermen and guide fishermen. Rod and Gun Club in Everglades City is where my greatgranfather and grandfather captained out of. We are currently living in Jupiter and are the proud owners of a 44 Gulfstar. Mom is a Thompson, Dad is a Parker graduates of Everglades High. I am related to everyone in Everglades City. Call us when you get in our area.
Linda
