Smile Happy Monster - Dutch Couple

Hi everybody,

We are Hans and Dory and we sail around the world in our "Happy Monster", a 36 feet Najad, build in 1987. We left The Netherlands in 2005 and at this moment we live in New Zealand for a year, working. Yes, the budget needs some attention.

We maintain a website where you can read about our adventures:
www.happymonster.nl.
Translations in english can be found at:
Travel Stories.

We hope to meet lots of fellow cruisers here.

Hans and Dory.

Not yet in Asia

No, we have not been in Asia yet. We came from Europe, the Caribbean and Panama into the Pacific. We are now in New Zealand, trying to work for a year, working on the budget

Next year we leave New Zealand and probably stay for another season in the Pacific. It is so beautiful upthere.

Here is a picture of our "Happy Monster" in Suriname, South America:

Greetings,
Hans & Dory.

Hi Hans & Dory,

Enjoyed your website (at least the pictures and the English translations). We are Americans, but we started from the Netherlands in 2006. Right now we are in the Caribbean. Next November we will continue west and plan to be in New Zealand by November 2010.

Maybe we will see you somewhere!

Enjoy!

Hi Hans & Dory,
I met you in Nuku Alofa and Neiafu last year. Little blue sloop called Nightcap. Still got plenty of balloons? When/if you get to Fiji look us up in Vuda Marina. They way the work is going we'll probably still be here.

Hi,
We probably leave NZ in May 2010 but the ocean is small, we'll meet somewhere. NZ is nice, you will love it here

Greetings,
Hans & Dory

I remember the little blue sloop. We are already longing to go back to the Pacific, and specially Fiji. One can spend a whole season over there. Perhaps we will meet again.

Greetings,
Hans and Dory

Welcome

Howdy from Texas Hans and Dory,
My parents sailed around the world, They said NZ was the hardest place for them to leave.

Welcome to the forum, there are a great group of people here.
