Greetings from Vancouver, BC and Blaine, WA

Hi Everyone.
I've just joined the forum and am delighted to have found it. I live in Vancouver BC Canada but keep my boat in Blaine WA which is right at the border (great marina, better rates than in Vancouver, and quick access to the islands of the pacific northwest).
I own a 44' Tollycraft CPMY, my third and probably last cruiser.I'm sitting on the boat as I write this, cost while the winds and rain are whipping outside. We come down to the boat most weekends, even in the winter. Somehow reading and hanging out on the boat even in the winter is more fun than at home.
I am using an IPad and love the growing number of apps available for boaters. Although it wil not replace other navigation equipment (at least not yet) it has been a great addition on board. Would love to share discussions with other iPad users and Tollycraft owners - or anyone else for that matter!

Welcome aboard. CF is certainly a good place to cruise while hanging out on the boat. Tollycrafts are great boats - good to hear you're enjoying the boat all season. We do the same. Over X-Mas we also take the boat d/t to Coal Harbour for a couple nights as a get away. Cheers,

I miss the powerboat days a bit but may end up with two boats after taking this one to P.I.

How do you find the border? (And don't say drive south until they stop you.)

When I lived in Van, it was sometimes horrible and I can't imagine it's much better now.

It depends on the time and day. I have a Nexus pass so that usually makes it fairly quick but there are some days it can take over 30 minutes even with Nexus. It is faster than driving to downtown Vancouver and a lot faster to get out into open water Another bonus is moorage, shopping, food, gas and wine are all cheaper in the States.
