Greetings from Seattle

Hi all, I have been lurking for awhile. Its high time I said hello, and thanks for all the great information.

I am a long way from becoming a cruiser. The dream, as it currently stands, is to liveaboard and work my way towards sailing The Nile.

If I manage that, and dodge the pirates while sailing around Africa... well, I haven't thought that far. Getting their alone could be the jouney of a lifetime.

I look forward to many spirited discussions.

There are a few of us around in the PNW. Bother us during the summer and you will probably go sailing!

Re: Greetings from Seattle

Thanks for all the welcomes.

I think I will do that newt, I figure a good microbrew and letting people know I am willing to get my hands dirty with boat maintenance ought to be the ticket to learning the ropes.

I am actually debating retraining into a boat maintenance career. Seems like the key to cutting down on cruising costs is to know how to fix almost anything onesself.

Re: Greetings from Seattle

We are transplanted East Coasters way up in Blaine Harbor and I'm relatively new to CF. Working on the boat with the idea of setting out this spring/summer. Having been given a big welcome by all the PNW-er's both live and on the forum I can assure you that you're in the right place for some good info!

Re: Greetings from Seattle

Well Greetings from a little South of Olympia next to Mt. Saint Hellens. Trying to figure out how or if I want to start my own thread. Nice to see others from Washington here too. I know we have a lot of boaters who live here and even more who don't but would love to because of the Puget Sound and Lake Washington. I hope to have a lot of conversations on here. Again, nice to meet you. My name is Preston
