Greetings from Alaska

After a 25 year depature in pursuit of Alpinisum, I am returning to sailing. My wife and I are purchasing a CSY 33 which we intend to keep in Tampa until we get the itch for passagemaking. This board has already been a great help so thank you for posting. Later, if I ever learn something of use I commit to pass it on. We are very excited about our new path and the opportunites to see more of the planet.

Its just like passagemaking, but you trade falling off the boat with falling off a mountain.

As for the CSY, I have a few of questions, the first one is whether or not you have investigated installing a boom vang.

Thanks Charlie

Nah, never felt I needed a boom vang.

Which CSY 33 are ya buying?

(They only built 59 and I know of quite a few of them)

Aloha Charlie,
Welcome aboard!! Good to have you here.
Although a boom vang is not absolutely necessary I think they are good for better mainsail control and tuning. With a vang you don't have to worry too much about your boom lifting too high while jibing.
Again, not necessary, but a good feature.
Kind Regards,
JohnL

Hull # 39.
Built 1979, probably late in the year.
She was delivered with a 5 feet draft and as a cutter.

Send me a PM with your phone number and we can chat about your boat.

Yeah I have a feeling you are right.
We may have an invasion of scumbags going on.
Pretty soon the scum will ask for our bank account numbers..

How do we filter out those postings?
