ALASKA - winter situation wanted

Hello!

We're two sailors and our dog heading north toward Prince William Sound. We are looking for a housesitting or innkeeping situation for October '06 through April '07, preferably in Valdez or Cordova, but maybe we'd stop in Haines or another spot.... We are trustworthy, educated, handy and generally just nice people who wish to explore the beauties of an Alaska winter (we're big backcountry skiers from Colorado and love that they measure their snow in feet!).

I made the initial post...we arrived in Valdez in mid-October and were fortunate enough to find two housesitting arrangements that will get us through March. We're currently seeking something for April and possibly May. It's worked out quite well, with us helping the homeowners clear snow, care for plants and watch for household malfunctions (one roof leaked).

If anyone from Valdez reads this, we will winter here again in the winter of 2007-2008 and are available for housesitting again. We can provide local references and are very responsible people.
