I'm new to this style of communications but must say that already I've had useful feedback on a couple of issues so if this is an indication of the sort of camaraderie the Crusing Forum provides, then it's good to be on board. My particular interest is Arctic sailing. Since 1996 this has included Norway, Svalbard, Bjornoya, Jan Mayen, Iceland and East and West Greenland. I joined a pal on a trip to West Africa a couple of years ago but although interesting, the high latitudes call me back. This season the plan is to return to a stretch of the East Greenland coast where we went in 2009 but this time to undertake some survey work which might prove useful in future years as the ice retreats. If anyone has thoughts on ice conditions and small boats they would like to share, do get in touch. Meantime, fair winds to you all.
