Just taking a second to say hello.

I see many people who are new take the time to set out their 'dreams' and goals so here are mine:
I'm an avid diver, been on motor boats for years. But as a kid I sailed a lot and I see that as the only realistic way to get around on the ocean once oil hits $200 a barrel.

ASA masters done, Coastal Nav under way... The next step is to book part of a small yacht down in the carribean and watch how a pro handles a small boat for a week. Then I guess it's learning bareboating and taking it from there.

Hopefully in a few years I'll be comfortable taking a boat 30 miles off shore and poking around some pinnacles or a remote wreck or just cruising round island lagoons looking for spots to take underwater photos. No big round the world trips for me - I've done enough weeks on boats to know how risky that is!

So my next post will be about finding a boat to rent (skippered) for a week in the Caribbean when I find the right forum...

Welcome aboard. Enjoy.

One quick question: Does ASA have a class or certificate called "master?"
